Proprietary Data Fields

JPasswords currently works with the "Password Safe" systematically extensible data file format 3. This format is both a database framework and a definition of specific fields and their semantics. JPasswords claims a few additional data entries (database fields) which are NOT in the canon of the original format. This does not disturb the functioning of the databases in any known application. There is, however, the principal possibility of field collisions in unknown future environments or converted file formats, that the developer has to be aware of.

There are two levels at which proprietary fields are claimed: the file level and the record level.

Record Level Fields

Field Code 65: Record Options
This field holds secondary record related properties; the loss of this field is not vital to data security.

Field Code 66: Record Documents
This field contains the data of record elements which currently are proprietary to JPasswords. The loss of this field is vital to data security!
