The Portable Installation Dialog is started over the "Help" menu in the program. It allows comfortable installation of JPasswords on a removable medium, like USB-sticks, removable disks, etc. When the program is started from this installation, it runs in a special modus called PORTABLE MODUS.
The Portable Installation Dialog shows a variety of installation options whose appearance depends on the conditions of the currently running program installation. The following lists the possible checkable options and their meaning of application.
Two files are supplied into the root-directory of the removable medium to provide start-batches for Windows and Linux/Unix based systems. "jpws.bat" and "jpws.bs". The latter is a bash-script and may required to get updated by the user for the special situation. Both files may function as such or need to be copied to a safer location, depending on how the operating system handles execution files.
JPasswords creates a standard directory for depositing files, needed or not needed, under "~/.jpws/files" where "~" refers to the user home directory. If this directory holds any content, this option is shown. If check "true" the directory will be copied into the destination PORTABLE directory.
If the software package constituting the Java Runtime Environment running the current program session is accessible, this option appears. If checked "true", the entire package is copied to the PORTABLE directory under the subfolder "jre". If you cannot start this JRE from the removable medium, it may still be useful when copied to a new host location. However, there is no guarantee given that this will be a meaningful of even harmless operation, so this is an option for specialists and totally left to your consideration and responsibility!
There is a standard slot for a JRE package marked as running under Windows under the folder "wjre" in the ".jpws" application home. The copy of this directory is offered if it exists.
