In this example when transfering data via POST method,
JPSpan manually sets the content-length header with
this.http.setRequestHeader('Content-Length', this.body.
length);
Opera 8.0x then sends the header this way (output from
Ethereal):
Content-Length: 337, application/x-www-form-urlencoded;
charset=UTF-8\r\n
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8\r\n
Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary\r\n
Compared to Firefox...
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF
-8\r\n
Content-Length: 337\r\n
Konqueror and other KHTML based browser, but not the latest
Safari, seem to show the same behavior as Opera 8.0x. If
you delete the line
this.http.setRequestHeader('Content-Length', this.body.
length);
from the source code everything works fine. The browser I
tested (Opera 8.0x on Windows and Konqueror 3.3 on Linux)
as well as IE6 and Gecko-based browser add the content-
length to the header automatically in case there is a POST
body.

Interesting.
Can you tell me if you get this error on Sourceforge, with
the examples there?
In particular this example;
http://jpspan.sourceforge.net/examples/testclient.php
If you click on the first "asyncPost" link on the left.
Many thanks.
