I finally got around to trying RC2 (on Windows-ME with Sun Java V1.5.0 build 1.5.0_02-b09). Here are the problems I have found: - On the feeds tab, when I scroll through the subscribed feed list, it slowly uses up all of my windows GDI resources and eventually crashes (locks up windows). It looks like some sort of resource leak. As I scroll through the feeds maybe something is being allocated and not de-allocated. It seems to be related to the number of feeds that I select. If I use page down to scroll it uses up the GDI resources slowly. If I use the down arrow (selecting each feed as I scroll) I use up the GDI resources very quickly. - "View-Settings-Language" causes jPodder to crash (lock up). - On the feeds tab, if I click the button above the feeds column to sort the feeds, then scroll down and remove a feed, the feeds become unsorted. Clicking the feeds button will not re-sort the feeds. - V1.1-RC2 will not import feeds from V0.90. I manually copied all of my feeds so this is no longer an issue for me. I tested it with feeds imported from V1.0 and it seems to work. Although the feeds list that I was using in v1.0 was rather small. - Exporting and importing feeds from an OPML file looses everything except the title and the URL (such as the "Stored in" folder and the "Download Limit" number). - If I import from an OPML file and there are duplicate titles in the OPML file, it crashes. I think it may also crash if you use duplicate titles when you do "feeds-addfeed". - If I select multiple feeds to delete, it makes me click OK for each feed. The dialog box should have a "yes to all" button. - The download tab has a typo in the status column. "pauzed" should be spelled "paused". - The "Help-About" dialog shows RC1 even though I downloaded and installed RC2 - The jPodder icon stays in the windows system tray even after jPodder is closed. - There is still a problem with the installer created shortcut having the wrong path to javaw.exe. All in all I really like the new GUI. It is a major improvement. Much cleaner and much faster. I do have a suggestion. It would be nice if I could run jPodder from the console, without the GUI, and have it just download the enclosures and then exit when it is done. Maybe a "-download" command line option? Maybe have it log each completed file to the console as it is done downloading that file? That way I could schedule it to run and have it use a minimal amount of resources while it is running. Thank you for all of the hard work you have put into jPodder.
