Thank you for finding this bug. I'm not sure how to fix this, probably I have to add the pageContext as an additional parameter of get/setModelReference and change all references. I dont think page scope is really needed very often, but (I think) its the default for <jsp:useBean ../> if you dont specify the scope. It searches the request, then the session, then the servlet context. It never searches attributes within the page context. This makes it so that the use of JSP expression language tags inside WCF attributes behaves differently than in other JSP tags.
