It seems to have problems on Mac OS X with files/directories containing special characters (non ASCII), such as é or á
in "données facturé"

I can provide testing and problem analysis if required.

Can you give me more details on this? I'm having trouble reproducing it on my iBook running 10.5. Just a quick test:

Monitoring /Users/mdonoughe/jnotify_macosx/Debug/åø´¨ø, ctrl+c to stop
created /Users/mdonoughe/jnotify_macosx/Debug/åø´¨ø : /untitled folder
created /Users/mdonoughe/jnotify_macosx/Debug/åø´¨ø : /.DS_Store
renamed /Users/mdonoughe/jnotify_macosx/Debug/åø´¨ø : /untitled folder -> /©¨˚ø≥¬˚∫ø

When using the terminal with Java, you need to use "-Dfile.encoding=UTF8". Otherwise Java will use some archaic encoding from the old Mac OS and outputs a bunch of question marks.
