Hi there. This is my current code with the newest version of JMRTD. How do i continue to upload this to my smartcard which already has an applet ready? PassportService passportService = new PassportService(cardService, PassportService.NORMAL_MAX_TRANCEIVE_LENGTH, PassportService.DEFAULT_MAX_BLOCKSIZE, false, true); passportService.open(); String mrz_documentCode = "P"; String mrz_issuingState = "SWE"; String mrz_primaryIdentifier = "A"; // Last name String mrz_secondaryIdentifier = "B"; // First...

When developing software to address a unique use case, having a well-defined API starting point is crucial. For example, if the project involves integrating with the passport appointment system, establishing a robust API foundation ensures that integration and functionality requirements are clearly mapped out from the beginning. By setting up this API framework, developers can efficiently handle specific business needs related to passport appointment, streamline data interactions, and maintain consistent...
If you’re requesting assistance with the response of a "doCA" related to documents for SIM, please provide more details about what you need help with. For instance, if it’s a document, clarify which aspects are confusing or if it’s a system, specify the issues you’re encountering. This will help in providing a more targeted and useful response. Thank you!

To check if a connection is lost, you can use various methods depending on the context. For network connectivity, use the ping command or equivalent in your programming language to test responsiveness. For server connections, send HTTP requests and verify the status code, while for databases, attempt to connect and run a simple query. Socket programming can be used to check connectivity to specific ports. For continuous monitoring, consider automated tools like Nagios or Zabbix, and implement error...
To test an E-Passport NFC without the physical passport, you can use a specialized NFC reader device or a compatible smartphone with NFC capability. Simply place the E-Passport near the NFC reader to check if it detects and reads the passport data stored electronically. Regarding NBI Appointment Cebu, you can schedule your appointment for NBI clearance in Cebu by visiting the official NBI clearance website and selecting Cebu as your preferred location during the appointment booking process.
Permission is crucial in immigration processes to regulate entry into a country and ensure compliance with laws. For instance, other immigration procedures, requires permission to manage the influx of individuals, maintain security, and verify eligibility. This process helps authorities screen applicants, uphold legal standards, and safeguard national interests, contributing to orderly migration and national security.

Hi Martijn, here are more details about the issue. If I want to read one of public keys available on my national ID, I need to send GetData command (on certain EF). For one of two available public keys, I am sending non-SM apdu, but as data that are present on eID contain more then 256 bytes, ICC returns first 256 bytes with SW of 611B. Then, sun.security.smartcardio.ChannelImpl (which is used by scuba-sc-j2se), resends GetResponse command ( https://github.com/JetBrains/jdk8u_jdk/blob/master/src/share/classes/sun/security/smartcardio/ChannelImpl.java#L198...

Ah, I see. I've never looked at IAS/ECC and wasn't aware that secure messaging is similar to ICAO. Not sure I can be of much help... So you're sending a (SM protected) "GET DATA" command, which results in multiple "GET RESPONSE" commands being sent by smartcardio. Is that original "GET DATA" command a case 2 or a case 3 APDU (i.e. do you specify an expected response length Le value)? If case 3, what do you use for Le? Normal length explicit (in smartcardio use a value < 256) Normal length implicit...

Hi Martijn, thanks for advice. I'll try, but it seems that sun.security classes are tightly related, so it seems that much of code should be chaned/added, as it cannot be used by import statement. Anyway, I'll try to explain my issue, as you or someone would need that (as scuba is using sun classes): If I try to read public key from my national ID card, GetData SM APDU need to be used. Content of public key is greater then 256 bytes, so when reading first "chunk" of data, SW 61xx is received. Unfortunatelly,...
JMRTD and its dependency scuba-smartcards do not directly use javax.smartcardio classes. The link to javax.smartcardio is made by the dependency on scuba-sc-j2se (I'm assuming your Java project uses that). Instead of depending on scuba-sc-j2se you could implement your own CardService instance which can use your custom ChannelImpl.

I am developing java project that communicates with smartcard. Project is based on jmrtd and scuba libraries. During development, I encountered issue when sending certain APDUs as secured messages. Debug process showed that sun.security.smartcardio.ChannelImpl class, process GetResponse APDU in a wrong way. In order to successfully communicate with smartcard, I need to change ChannelImpl class. So, my project is using jmrtd and scuba libraries, which both refer to javax.smartcardio. Furthermore,...

sorry sir but how can we extract SOD signature from SOD? I haven't found any functions in the JMRTD library proper for that task
I believe it is up to the caller, that is the app or library using jmrtd, to insert the BC provider at position 1.
@martijno I think a better fix will be to always rely on the BC provider. For example, if you were to use jmrtd on Android, any getInstance() calls gets redirected to the default Android provider which is conscrypt. Conscrypt does not support some algorithms (i.e. secp256k1) and will throw this error.
