There are other Java3D based projects mentioned on the web... but this might be a good target for rendering quality... but as it is Java3D based, it has the known downsides that: 1. Java3D is not very portable 2. Java3D is buggy (and support seems unlikely as Sun is moving away from Java3D) 3. you cannot use Java3D easily in a browser...
