I asked about the inability to copy/paste from Java windows on 3/18/11 with subject "Can't copy/paste Jmol applet console on Mac" I continue to be frustrated about this also. Neither Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V nor drag and drop work anymore in Mac OS 10.5 with current java. The ability to write the state script to a file from the signed applet is a big help. However, I have another problem in Proteopedia. I generate a molecular scene in FirstGlance in Jmol (where certain scenes are easy, and very difficult in Proteopedia). Then I save the state script from FirstGlance and I want to run it in the applet in Proteopedia. (After running the script in the Proteopedia applet, saving the state script to the server is automated and easy.) I can no longer just paste it into the Jmol applet Script Console. The same problem (inability to paste) arises even if you develop a short script with the application, and then want to run it in the applet in Proteopedia. You have to re-type it line by line! The workaround I've been using is to do this all in Firefox 2 in Windows 98 with old java that still allows copy and paste! I happen to use Windows 98 daily (in a virtual machine on my Mac) so it is readily available to me. How is that for kludgy?! Any better suggestions? -Eric |
