Hi Dmitry, The issue i face is that in my template, based on the data in XML i hide or show certain portions of my flash movie. But effectively all the movies generated have same size based on the template(even if i hide or show parts of it). What i want to do is to remove the portions of the movie that dont have data in XML documents. The issue here is that i need to reduce to size of the movie if i am showing only parts of it. Thanks, Sumeer. -----Original Message----- From: Dmitry Skavish [mailto:sk...@us...] Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2002 11:29 AM To: Khosa, Sumeer Cc: 'jge...@li...' I am just wondering is there any method in the > JGenerator API to reduce the FlashFile size or compress it into one frame > after the .swf is generated. JGenerator tries not to duplicate things in .swf, but it's not always possible. It usually works for images, so if you insert an image two times into a .swf it will occupy a space of one. For shapes and movie clips you need to take care of it yourself. Usually with right coding the size can be reduced dramatically. But I don't quite understand what you mean by compressing it into one frame? If the data in all the frames are the same why you need all these frames? If the data in all the frames are different (I suppose this is the case) then even if you put all this into one frame it will only reduce the size of your file by 9 bytes (1 byte for every frame), so this is not what you want I guess. -- Dmitry Skavish ----------------------- Boston, MA, USA tel. +1 781 910-3810 http://www.jzox.com http://www.flashgap.com |
