Yeeha! I started looking at taking the FOP stuff that was just submitted and making it fit better with JGenerator. My first goal is to create a "RenderFOCommand" which will render a FO file and insert it into a swt. It seemed the most sensible thing to do was to adapt SWFRenderer and SWFFlashFile to create a script rather than a flash file. However in the process of converting these things I ran into one problem -- fonts. It seems that when external fonts are loaded they must be loaded into a file. Is this true? I'd like to be able to load external fonts arbitrarily, and then at generation time have all fonts referenced by items be included. This would make everything really easy. The other alternative I see is to render to FO into a file ( as is being done now ) and then detach the script and fonts and merge them into the file containing the template. This seems a bit uglier to me, but would work. Dmitry, I know you've been doing a lot with fonts lately, any thoughts on how to proceed? Thanks, James |
