[JGB-general] Off Topic GUI Question

Hello colleagues ,

i have some experience in java backend development but now i have to design
a Java GUI.
For me the main focus will be to design it (UML etc.), not to implement it.
I am a little bit confused about the Thread and SwingWorker Issues.
Perhaps someone of you can give me advice in how to start with this (e.g. a
good book, website).
I have heard about the 2 different APIs (Swing and IBM).
I there a good book describing the differences ?
Does anyone knows a good resources for design examples ?
