Hi, I noticed jfs has proc support, so I build a kernel using proc support, rebooted, and saw nothing there. /proc/fs is there, but no subdir/file/whatever named jfs. Kernel 2.4.18, jfs-1.0.19, evms-1.1.0pre1, gcc-2.95.3, libc-2.2.5, Intel PII 350, IBM UW SCSI 9,1GB disks on an Adaptec 2940 UW controller. Similair behaviour on jfs-1.0.18 and below, evms-1.0.1 and below. By the way: whenever I untar something big on a jfs volume I notice a very big decrease in performance on any other jfs filesystem. For example: /usr Is a separate evms volume and /home is as well (so are /, /var, /tmp, /boot ..., but that's not important) When I untar something to /usr/src and edit something in my homedir and try to save it, it often takes a lot of time before I can continue working. Is this normal behaviour ? It's not like that on xfs but I'm not using that anymore. Thanks again, Bas. |
