Sounds like you trap in the kdb kernel debugger (caps lock and scroll lock blinking). With X running you can blindly type "go" for continuing or "reboot" for rebooting. On the console you should see the kdb prompt. See .../linux/Documentation/kdb. You can switch kdb off with "kdb=off" boot parameter or echo "0" > /proc/sys/kernel/kdb. Or dont compile kdb into the kernel. utz |
