Hi! Should change subject to: 2.4.10 and jfs-1.0.8 = locked system Again my system is locked up (seemingly after using the ioctl/FIBMAP call, but not reproducable) The caps lock and scroll lock leds are blinking (they also did last time but forgot to report that) and the system is dead with no errors in the logs. This time I did fsck.jfs -n but it didnot report any error. Very strange as I cant mount my partition anymore. Output of fsck.jfs: >fsck.jfs version 1.0.8, 17-Oct-2001 >Block size in bytes: 4096 >File system size in blocks: 263064 >Phase 1 - Check Blocks, Files/Directories, and Directory Entries. >Phase 2 - Count Links. >Phase 3 - Rescan for Duplicate Blocks and Verify Directory Tree. >Phase 4 - Report Problems. >Phase 5 - Check Connectivity. >Phase 6 - Perform Approved Corrections. >Phase 7 - Verify File/Directory Allocation Maps. >Phase 8 - Verify Disk Allocation Maps. >File system checked READ ONLY. >File system is clean. Mounting: >conloi2:~ # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/scsi1 >mount: you must specify the filesystem type >conloi2:~ # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/scsi1 -t jfs >mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1, > or too many mounted file systems One thing I did not mention: I restricted my system to 32MB of RAM (mem=32) and I shutdown my swap partitions. I dont think, that it matters, but you never know... Any ideas?
