Do I sound like a broken record? With a setSubPlot(Plot[]) call for the CombinedXXXPlot classes, I can configure them entirely from XML.
As always, I'm happy to submit the patches for stuff like this if that makes life easier for you.

I should note that if you would rather do this as the corresponding call to getSubplots (i.e. setSubplots(List plots)), that's good as well.
