Often enough, the preferred languages are not specified as <lang>_<country>, but only <lang> with the variant with country further down in the list, or a user might have Finnish at the top of the list, and German at second position.
The attached patch changes the signature to getLocales and have the code iterate over the returned list of languages to find a supported locale.
