<mfrac linethickness="0"> should not display a fraction bar at all, but the JEuclid 3.1.1 FOP plugin does.

This is a recommended way to express binomial coefficients in Presentation MathML (http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-MathML/chap3_3.html#sec3.3.2).
