Sometimes the aspect ratio of the displayed graph is
odd when first connecting to device. I have been
unable to find a way to repeat this.

This is a GridBagLayout issue, I thought I had it taken care
of. Somehow, the preferredSize isn't getting computed
properly and the 3D view is being stretched by GBC (fill =
HORIZONTAL). I think this requires a full audit of the UI code.
