#115 Not Recognizing New Variants

While attempting to fix the an error in the Ancient Mediterranean variant, I found that jdip seems to only see variants with a timestamp of Sep 26, 2005, 7:45 PM; new ones don't show up at all.

Note- this occurred with version 1.7.0 on OS X.
