Heiko, We're using 3.0.4, but this is irrelevamt because we want to configure the client and not the server. I had a look at the source code for LoginContext. The solution is to set environment variable java.security.auth.login.config to the location of auth.conf file you want to use. Just put -Djava.security.auth.login.config=/conf/auth.conf, and then there's no problem.
