All services in JBoss can be reconfigured without restarting the JBoss 
server, but that doesn't mean that you don't have to restart the 
individual service.

Not my area, but you can deploy a datasource as part of a .sar or a 
-service.xml file.  You just copy the driver jar and then the 
-service.xml into the deploy directory and your datasource starts.

David, how do you deploy a new datasource programmatically?
