I'm not sure when this conversation started.  Right now the situation with
classloaders in jboss 3.0.1 (cvs Branch_3_0) is that you can specify the
loader repository for an ear in a jboss-app.xml file next to the
application.xml file.  Several .ears can share the same loader repository. 
So, as long as you are willing to pack everything into several .ears, you
can run lots of copies of an app on an individual server, by specifying the
LoaderRepository == copy of app for each .ear.  Your application does not
need to fit into a single ear.  This would be pretty easy to extend to
other size packages (ejb jars, anyway) if there is a lot of demand.

Is there a problem with this scheme for you?
