I want to be able to take a picture of a bar code with my cell phone and decode the image. From the little I can tell from your site, this should be possible.
If you think it is possible, could you point me to some documentation?
If it's not possible with this package, please let me know.

Sorry to say the tutorial I wrote has gone to the ether. Sourceforge updated mysql, and I lost the docs. My own fault should of upgraded sooner and kept a back up. Anyway I will be writing another tutorial soon.
To take pcitures of barcodes you need a fairly good camera, and the barcode must be with a predefined box. A part from these it should be possible to decode a barcode from a phone camera.
I do have plans to make the decoding more tolarant, just need to find the time.
If you download the source code there should be some example code on how to decode from an image.
