Happy Thanksgiving all!
I have been hard at work on improvements for the JMCC, and I hope you enjoy them!
I noticed several minor bugs and worked through these:
-Generating powers before generating a character and without setting a number of allowed powers threw an error
-Many alignment issues
-Typos in data files (see below for fix)
-many others I can't remember
-Issues with new settings checkboxes not being able to be unselected
-Fixed the way negative Popularity shifts are calculated... read more
I finally had some time to work on a search feature for characters stored in the DB. You'll find the feature on the File menu.
Currently you can do a text search against:
-Character Name
-Character Form
-Powers
-Talents
-Contacts
I'll include stuff like player name, hair color, etc. down the road.
You can load a character from the search results by double-clicking anywhere in the results row.
Enjoy!
4.1 contained a bug where settings weren't being saved or loaded. That's fixed.
Also, I refined the JAR creation process and removed unnecessary files.
This is the first version using a database. The DB will automatically be created during the first run.
You can save and retrieve characters from the DB which means no more versioning of save files! The option to save and load files is still there for those that like that feature.
I also fixed a few bugs and added the ability to custom-enter Extra Body parts (really just a label).
Also, the Roller includes the tables for the new FASERIP retroclone, but the main JMCC doesn't include any material from that product.... read more
A small update to the Roller (v1.1). It now includes the spell tables from Realms of Magic.
Had a bug with preserving numbers of Talents and Contacts: fixed in this release.
A few bug fixes, minor ones.
New features:
-Reorganized menus (added 'Sets' menu)
-Added menu options (you can now choose the number of powers/talents/contacts and preserve the values between rerolls)
-Reorganized Advanced Set Powers and Talents (moved category headers into list to make better discern where categories begin and end, added formatting for category names)
This version contains various bug fixes and streamlines how "Show Original Data" and "Compound Form" behave.
This will be the last version for awhile as I need to work on other projects. I'll return to this in a few months.
Ok, here's Beta v3.4. The major improvements in this one are the ability to choose the forms in a rolled or chosen Compound Form and the ability to view the "Original Data".
Being able to view the original data is mainly useful for Judges so one can verify that a player actually rolled the character and didn't cheat.
Please email me with any bugs you find, and please leave a review on the Sourceforge page!... read more
Compound forms are here! Either random roll them, or select the option item "Manually Select the Forms in a 'Compound Form'" to pick the number of forms and/or the forms themselves.
The Die Roller has been updated and no longer needs the supporting text files. It's available in the files section.
Beta v3.0 is now all wrapped up in one .jar! No more .zips to download. Just download the .jar and run!
The stand-alone die roller still needs updated to this format, but the one in the JMCC works fine.
Check out the new stuff in Beta version 2.6!
-Will no longer roll duplicate powers!
(except where it makes sense like when rolling power categories for advanced set, or Power Simulation power from UPB)
(to accommodate this I needed to a column to the advpowerlist.txt and upbpowerlist.txt files. If you customized these, you will need to rework them to include the new column or you will get errors)... read more
I added a revised version of the Ultimate Powers Book to the download section. It has all of the revised material need to use the UPB section of the JMCC.
I uploaded a stand alone version of the die roller. It is the latest version that will be included with JMCC Beta v 2.5. Enjoy!
