Thanks for the response, Regarding the problem I have with JavaGroups on WindowsNT4, I do not think it is a network problem, because: 1. I tried it both from home and at work. 2. The Mcast test is working fine. 3. I tried the Draw demo with the same port and ttl and Mcast - Draw fails. 4. I tried Draw with different ports and ttls - Draw fails. 5. Draw succeeds on the same network on machines other than WinNT4. 6. Draw fails on 2 different NT4 machines (so it is not a single machine problem). Here are the last properties that I used: props="UDP(mcast_addr=228.1.2.3;mcast_port=9000;ip_ttl=31):" + "PING(timeout=3000):" + "FD(timeout=5000):" + "VERIFY_SUSPECT(timeout=1500):" + "pbcast.STABLE(desired_avg_gossip=10000):" + // "DISCARD(down=0.1):" + "pbcast.NAKACK(gc_lag=5;retransmit_timeout=3000;trace=true):" + "UNICAST(timeout=5000;min_wait_time=2000):" + // "FRAG:" + "pbcast.GMS(initial_mbrs_timeout=4000;join_timeout=5000;join_retry_timeout=2 000;" + "shun=false;print_local_addr=true)"; According to the guide, if Mcast works and JavaGroups is not, it is probably a problem with the stack. I am not fluent with all the layers (what is shun, for example?), but I am just trying to run the example from the Demos. Regarding the Distributed Hashtable, I probably didn't explain myself too good. Here is the thing: if the table is pretty large (1 GB, for example), it would take a lot of time for the joining entity to sync with the group members. The question is: will it block for a long time the member that is cooperating with the new member (I think it is the coordinator, but I'm not sure)? > -----Original Message----- > From: jav...@li... > [mailto:jav...@li...]On > Behalf Of Bela Ban > Sent: Monday, June 04, 2001 3:48 AM > Cc: jav...@li... > Subject: Re: [javagroups-users] Problems running JavaGroups > on Microsoft WindowsNT4 > > > Asaf Kariv wrote: > > > Has anyone encountered problems in running JavaGroups on > WindowsNT 4?
