XP is not about micro management, its about communication and coordination. Adjustments to task, scale and scope can reduce the feelings that a developer may have that he is under dictatorial micromanagement.

But this does not mean removing the ceiling for scope/scale. And about granularity as I call it and this idea of that removing more source than you are writing means you are on the right track. This applies to number of classes, methods, interfaces and packages in use as well. Precise, concise, well defined solutions. Of course this
takes time to mature or develop.
