calculator1.0 will now be the new source tree. I will be moving only classes needed for the calculator app and applet and webstart to this source tree. you may still use the other tree to do case test or otherwise help in any way you can. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

the collections in javacavemaps will be extensions of java collections. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

I finally picked up a book on tiger 1.5. I'll begin learning 1.5 features for the project. currently I'm only totally familiar with 1.4 features. So I suppose we will be using 1.5 soon. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

you may add source to the projects as package name javacavemaps.casetest.(sfid).case1 .case2 .case3 .case4 etc. sfid is of course your sourceforge username. This way we can keep case test separated for each user. case test are basically testing some idea or language features. Example code. Please use original code, nothing plagerized. This way if you are just itching to code you can work ahead with case test. later well can pull this code to where its needed. case test will not be part of release files. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

Oh, notice the specs are only about the calculator application. Our project will become more complex I promise. I'm going to post another document about how I intend to apply some principles of the XP Methodology. Please read it when you get a chance. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

So does my "Reply" option, but "Reply to All" cc's the mailing list. Seems a little backwards to me. I just noticed that reply in my client to a received list mailing, goes to the user that mailed to the list, not to the list itself. testing... this has been a test of the emergency email broadcasting system. If this had been an actually emergency you would have seen the keyword "BEEP" followed by some instructions on what to do such as. "Bend over and kiss your fat ass good bye because they are dropping the big bombs.". This has only been a test. Larry Gray la...@ar... |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

PS i hope i'm not sounding rude, and if i do - i'm sorry, but i really dont mean it. best regards, tomer >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Tomer Barletz" <tom...@za...> >To: <jav...@li...> >Sent: Friday, December 12, 2003 12:37 PM >Subject: [Javacavemaps-developers] javacavemaps UI > > > > >>hi, >>is there a way somebody (probably you, larry) could describe, maybe by >>using some graphic program like gimp, the main applet's UI? that way i >>will be able to start working on the applet's panels. >> >>thanks. >>tomer >> >> >> >>------------------------------------------------------- >>This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials. >>Become an expert in LINUX or just sharpen your skills. hi, is there a way somebody (probably you, larry) could describe, maybe by using some graphic program like gimp, the main applet's UI? that way i will be able to start working on the applet's panels. thanks. tomer |

I have added many //TODO: comments, look for these using some search tool, windows file finder, or an IDE search tool. vi editor will also search many files at once. Remember to update, commit often when you begin work, that way if two people begin to work on the same method, you will know it, cvs will give a merge error. Then you must cooridnate with other person trying to edit that method. There may be a way with cvs to lock a file, but not aware of it right now. I know you can track a file, so that if someone commits something you get an email saying that file had been edited. This is the most expediant method I have right now for creating work for programmers to do. thanks. |

I did a lot o refactoring, moved a package, deleted a package, and renamed some classes. You may want to do a fresh checkout of the project files. |

I added some .txt files for each level of the parsing. the creation of a single ParseContext must parse any of those levels. station <--- begin here in our work line branch survey cave <-- end here in our work |

I added a .parse package to the proejct and an AbstractCaveModel class which all other models will extend |

I have a pattern in mind which I will begin write stub code for parsing the data from both the file, and text area as input. You may look this pattern up, its called the Strategy Pattern. Basically we will have a ParseContext object This object will select the Parse Strategy for the chunk of text that it is parsing Once this is finished it will work recursivly. We will have a basic ParseStrategy object, and a subclass strategy for each level in the tree. And each strategy will build the model on its level and return that. I think we can test all levels of this at once if we work it right. We can return dummy objects until we get it fully working. or we can do the lower levels first and work our way up. By Levels I mean Caves, Cave, Surveys, Survey, SurveyBranch, SurveyLine, SurveyStation |
