Authentication is a very common functionality that is required in almost all applications. Though authentication is ubiqutous in applications, we can all agree that it is not the core functionality of the applications that we develop. For eg, when we are writing a mobile app, we usually require users to login into our application. To accomplish that, we might write our own screen for login, our own logic to validate the user input - user id and password. From an application developer's point of view, writing the authentication code is not very effective use of his time. The developer might concentrate on core application functionality instead. It would be nice to have a framework that separates authentication code from the core application code - and allow developers to dynamically configure their authentication method. We currently do not have such a framework. JAuthentic hopes to address this problem.
JAuthentic is a configurable, and flexible way to separate authentication from application's core logic. It returns to the core application only the stuff it needs - a boolean true if authentication was successful or a boolean false if the authentication was a failure.
