Try to use own compiled Crystal Space + CEL engine - very recent svn trunk version. You can find building instruction in the forum. And use old Jammer-TheGardener-1.0.celzip only.

I'm getting the same problem on Ubuntu 32 Bit 7.04, using an NVidia GeForce 7600GT video card. I also get quite a few errors on the commandline when I launch the game, although the game still runs:

My guess is that there are some dependencies that aren't accounted for in the .DEB file available on the site, and the necessary shader plugins aren't being installed.

I just got it working on my system by installing the nvidia-cg-toolkit package. Unfortunately, this package doesn't seem to be in the Ubuntu repositories, even though it's in Debian Stable, Testing and Unstable.
