Hi to all, I'm new to the list. My name is Florian Berger, I run a recording studio in Leipzig, Germany, and give lectures at the local SAE institute. I have sent this proposal to Steve, but he asked me to repeat it here, for he might be likely to forget about it. ;-) So here I am. To work with JAMin in a professional way, it may be necessary to be able to monitor the RMS level of (at least) the JAMin output. Samplitude has a pretty cool two-in-one meter: http://www.windowatch.com/2001/images/naef/magix7_10_3.gif You can watch the RMS of the signal in real time as two white bars on the peakmeter. Additional, peak and RMS values are displayed in numbers (dBFS). So, if there is the time, it would be great if such a meter could be included in JAMin. It doesn't have to be an actual rip-off, I could imagine to have a darker transparent RMS meter above the brighter peakmeter (but small white bars may be easier to implement)... ;-) A checkbox or menu entry could be included to turn the RMS meter on and off, so users don't get confused because of two meters. Just an idea. Thanks and best regards to all, Florian Berger, Leipzig, Germany |
