[Jadclipse-develop] [jadclipse - Help] JadClipse does NOT work on Eclipse 3.3.1.1

As others have observed, JadClipse does NOT work with Eclipse 3.3.1.1
I've been using it for years, but with this Eclipse version it doesn't work.
Have tried all the usual stuff
- freshly installed Eclipse
- eclipse -clean
- installed correct JadClipse version in plugins
- configured Path to JAD v1.5.8g
- set JadClipse Viewer as default
...but it always uses the internal Class File Editor

Summary: Patch for 701076 ( compiled jar-File for Eclipse 2.1) 

Initial Comment:
I was not able to add the file via webinterface to the 
existing Patch.
So I opened a new patch-thread and added the compiled 
version of &lt;b&gt;wr0ngway&lt;/b&gt;'s patch for peoble with no 
access to CVS.
Replace the jar at eclipse/plugins/jadclipse of your 
Eclipse 2.1 and jadclipse will work fine again!

Patch for 701076 ( compiled jar-File for Eclipse 2.1)  
I was not able to add the file via webinterface to the 
existing Patch. 
So I opened a new patch-thread and added the compiled 
version of &lt;b&gt;wr0ngway&lt;/b&gt;'s patch for peoble with no 
access to CVS. 
Replace the jar at eclipse/plugins/jadclipse of your 
Eclipse 2.1 and jadclipse will work fine again!

Ah i found the problem:

Go to 'Window\Preferences\General\Editors\File Associations'
There at the *.class file type chose jadclipse as a default editior.

I just installed Jadclipse 3.2.4 on my Eclipse ID (3.2.0 / M20060629-1905)
When i want to see a .class in eclipse, I get, in the editor, the JAD.exe command
help as if i entered it in a DOS box without parameters:

Tried to install the JadClipse plugin versions:
net.sf.jadclipse_3.2.4.jar
and
jadclipse_3.2.0.jar

for 

Eclipse:
Version: 3.2.2.r322_v20070119-RQghndJN8IM0MsK
Build id: M20070212-1330

by placing the extracted files in 
{RAD install directory}\SDP70\plugins

The problem is that I couldn't see the JadClipse plugin under
Window->Preferences->Java

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

I'm working on the following eclipse version
Version: 3.3.1
Build id: M20070921-1145

I've put the net.sf.jadclipse_3.3.0.jar librairy in my eclipse/plugins folder.

The librairy appears at the end of eclipse configuration details (Help > About
Eclipse SDK > Configuration Details) :
...
file:/D:/Dev/eclipse/plugins/net.sf.jadclipse_3.3.0.jar

JadClipse doesn't appears in the plug-in details (Help > About Eclipse SDK >
Plug-in Details).

There is no "JadClipse" sub-menu under the "Java" menu in eclipse preferences.



Does someone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong, or is the plug-in just not
compatible with my eclipse version ?

I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 - when I try to execute the jad executable I get
this error:
jad: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've downloaded both versions of Jad for Linux - statically linked and shared
- neither works.  any ideas?  I installed the Ubuntu "build-essential" package
thinking that would help but it did not.

1) No, the output folder is not part of the build path, except they are identical.
Therefore, JadClipse does not work. However, I wonder whether this issue could
be fixed.

2) It's not possible with JadClipse unless you create an Eclipse project and
create a linked resource (directory) containing the external .classfile and
then you add this linked directory to the build path. See also

I have followed the instructions in Installation and Troubleshooting but no
matter what I do I always get the Eclipse class file viewer.

Browsing this forum I see this:

Binary classes (.class) must be in a folder inside the build path of a java
project.

Now, my Eclipse project is set up to use a common build output folder, which
is (must be, I believe) next to rather than under the source folder. Is it therefore
not "inside the build path"? If that is in fact the problem, does this mean
it is not possible to use this plugin with a common build output folder?

Second question (if I may :) I had hoped to be able to use this plugin as a
general front-end for jad, meaning I could open any arbitrary class file (not
necesarily part of my project) in Eclipse and see the decompiled source. Now
I wonder if this is in fact not the design intent, and is not possible. Be this
the case, can someone point me to a good visual frontend to jad (by "good" I
mean better than cavaj or FrontEnd Plus)?

Now it's OK: Eclipse 3.3 jad 1.5.8g jadclipse 3.3.0.
Binary classes (.class) must be in a folder inside the build path of a java
project.
Otherwise you get nothing, neither an error log, and the class file is open
with the original eclipse editor, even if you set as default jadclipse.

Should at least give a warning, don't you think so ?
