I am trying to merge two databases by using the "import into current database Ctrl + i" command. The problem is that once I have directed the dialog to the other .bib file I wish to merge into the current one it opens up a completely grey window. This window starts showing items in it once I hover my mouse over it and/or right click in areas that gives me a menu (the menu refreshes the image below itself once closed).

I have done the following things to attempt to remedy the situation:

  • Uninstalled Java and then installed Java 64 bit only and then 32 bit only.
  • Installed JabRef on an Ubuntu 14.04 virtual machine
  • Installed JabRef on a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04

With the same result for each one. I am currently on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it does the same on both my work and home PC. Please could you assist, it's a rather frustrating issue. Thank you. Please find attached an image of the result:

It could be an issue with Java and the graphics driver.

Could you try to start JabRef from the command line. Hope, you'll find jabref.jar somewhere on your PC. Then java -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false -jar jabref.jar.

Hello Oliver, I am not sure how it could be a driver issue if I have 3 different systems with 3 different graphics cards 8800M GTX on the first, MSI R5870 Radeon on the Desktop and AMD Radeon HD 6490M on my now linux-win Mac.

I started the program from command with the line: java -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false -jar JabRef-2.10.jar and have attached the log as I opened JabRef and went into the "Import into current database" option window
