No

I'm using Java 7.09 in the 64bit version.

Using Jabref 2.8.1 with that works fine, but JabRef 2.9 tells me that it cannot find Java. If I now install Java 7.08 in the 32bit version, Jabref 2.9 can find it.

So you introduced the regression that JabRef 29 cannot find a 64bit Java 7. But 64bit Java is nowadays pre-installed in many companies and universities for 64bit Windows machines.

This is a duplicate of bug 1103. Resolved in the upcoming version 2.9.1. A development build can be found at http://ge.tt/9Idc446

That is not a duplicate because bug 1103 appeared also with 2.8.1 ans 2.7.x, but what I describe only appears with 2.9.

However, my first comment was incorrect: the problems appear also with 32bit Java. So Jabref 2.9 is in general not usable on Windows. My OS is Windows XP 64bit.

I tested now your latest development build and the bug I described is fixed there. As currently Jabref 2.9 cannot be used at least on Windows because of the bug, please release 2.9.1 quickly.
