If the connection to the server is not terminated
properly, the next time a connection is attempted, the
whole IDE is shut down with an error :

The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade)
occured in the application at location 0x877e89b01

(value in brackets changes)

This is reproduceable.

    It appears that winjab.exe also throws this exception
    (albeit quietly). When attaching a debugger to WinJab.exe
    I saw the following when exiting the app:

    First-chance exception in WinJab.exe (KERNEL32.DLL):
    0x0EEDFADE: (no name)

    Winjab presents no notification that this error was thrown
