This patch removes the .cvsignore files.
Moves a number of files into obsolete.
Adds a new README
Fixes pr723 for V0.8
Removes the vcddiff executable.
Changes some files permissions to 0644
Creates teh log/, work/, and vpi_log/ directories when needed.
Ignores the appropriate files/directories.

Applied to git master.

I has an index mismatch. The patch proper applied cleanly so it was easy to resolve. Which source repository did you use?
