-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 This is (hopefully) the last release of Icarus Verilog 0.8. The next major releases will be in the 0.9 series. The 0.8.7 release wraps up all the various Verilog fixes for the 0.8 series into legacy-style packaging. This new packaging will allow it to co- exist with versions from newer series. Take special note that the configure script for 0.8.7 enables the build suffix mode (--enable-suffix=-0.8) by default. This automatically builds and installs with unique names so that it does not conflict with new releases coming down the road. This is indented to reduce or eliminate your risk when it comes time to upgrade to 0.9. The source and initial RPMS for Icarus Verilog 0.8.7 are available here: <ftp://ftp.icarus.com/pub/eda/verilog/v0.8/verilog-0.8.7.tar.gz> <ftp://ftp.icarus.com/pub/eda/verilog/v0.8/verilog-0.8.7-0.src.rpm> SPECIAL NOTE TO PACKAGE MAKERS!!! In order to support the overlap of this 0.8 series with the 0.9 series to come, please package verilog-0.8.7 as verilog08 and use the --enable-suffix=-0.8 configure option. The verilog.spec included in the tar bundle does this (note all the new file names) and the sample RPMS in the above repository are build properly. If you name the package for verilog-0.8.7 as verilog08, then a coming 0.9 release will not replace verilog08. If you package verilog-0.8.7 with the --enable-suffix=-0.8, then the files will not conflict either. Thus, verilog-0.8.7 and verilog 0.9.x can co-exist. This is an important feature of this release. - -- Steve Williams "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. steve at icarus.com But I have promises to keep, http://www.icarus.com and lines to code before I sleep, http://www.picturel.com And lines to code before I sleep." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4-svn0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFJPzygrPt1Sc2b3ikRAgjnAJ4iGhJtd3XduwW88hfyHBQr0Rd7/gCgh+4A yNeI09WyJPYck+0ZCbgLwV4= =NiJu -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
