Don't be intimidated by patents, other than to avoid looking at 
them.

There is plenty of prior art.  Most of the early work was done 
at universities and published, some with code.

It might be a good idea to change the license to GPL-3.  Gnucap 
is GPL-3.

If you do run into patent issues, maybe someone will try to hire 
you, possibly as an expert witness.
