I'm OK with all that.

Although I don't normally go changing tings for the sake of changing
them (I try to have a cleanup plan and follow it while touching files
for other reasons) that usually means I never get around to these
cleanups. I do think the current division of labor has led to some
unnecessary bugs, so yours seems like a valuable plan.
