I think you are actually looking for some sort of hooks in the
central repository that sent a message whenever the repository
is changed. Yes? Perhaps the way to do it would be to set up the
update hook to send a message to a mailing list set aside for
the purpose.

Any gut experts out there with the necessary experience?
