-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've got the important parts of the http service back up, and I've got the git server working again. So now the usual business of getting the source and submitting patches, and downloading snapshots, all of that stuff should be working. Over the weekend the icarus.com server, a DEC (yes, "DEC", it's that old) alpha, died. No data is lost, but the O/S it was running was quite old, so as I'm putting together the pieces in a new server I'm relearning a lot of stuff. Fortunately, no data is lost. I've kept good backups, and at any rate the disks are unscathed. Although they use BSD partition tables, so there is a little pain getting at them. Yes, they are that old. My alpha was a very stable machine, and I'm sad to see it go:-( Anyhow, it will be a day or two before I'm fully back to life. I only just now got my e-mail servers working again. - -- Steve Williams "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. steve at icarus.com But I have promises to keep, http://www.icarus.com and lines to code before I sleep, http://www.picturel.com And lines to code before I sleep." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4-svn0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIX7durPt1Sc2b3ikRAm9YAKCjHBUXXR4yBhvCKoTvOlpLTZQ6ywCfQAIP f+DaSAW5u4ACaw5PNRS/LO4= =YClK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The Icarus Verilog git repository has been mirrored as repo.or.cz for a while now, but the mirroring feature for that service seems to have broke months ago and I can't get it going again. Nor can I get the administration worked out so that I can automatically push to the iverilog.git on that service. So I've removed that mirror from the Icarus Verilog documentation. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to remove the Icarus Verilog copy from the repo.or.cz host, so it will sit there obsolete. Hopefully, it won't cause confusion. I've set up a new mirror on github, at: ~ <git://github.com/steveicarus/iverilog.git> The github service doesn't have an automatic pull-mirroring feature, but I am able to get non-interactive push working, so this git mirror is updated daily by pushes from icarus.com. (I've seen at least 1 automatic update work:-) And of course, the principle git repository on icarus.com is open and available as always. - -- Steve Williams "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. steve at icarus.com But I have promises to keep, http://www.icarus.com and lines to code before I sleep, http://www.picturel.com And lines to code before I sleep." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4-svn0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIKwzLrPt1Sc2b3ikRAon4AJ9wyrSmax0mFhpwG4KbOWvfK0lQCwCeJcxG bYU9bUgmrbp9Ck+xoyraFMg= =kLNS -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

After almost two months, 85 downloads and no reported problems it is time for the official release of the Verilog-A math library for Icarus Verilog. It can be found in the Icarus SourceForge download area located here (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149850). The only notable difference between this release and the previous RC2 release is the addition of an example file. This file demonstrates the enhancements to the real type contained in the development version (V0.9) of Icarus Verilog. When appropriately configured this release should work with either version 0.8 or 0.9 of Icarus. The MinGW crash previously reported has been fixed in the latest git for Icarus Verilog. It produces different (possibly incorrect) results for some of the corner cases (-0, Inf and NaN). This appears to be a MinGW issue. Using a newer version of MinGW may resolve some of these. We plan to eventually integrate this library into the 0.9 release. This standalone version will be kept to support older releases. The following functions and constants are added by this library: $ln(x) -- Natural logarithm $log(x) -- Decimal logarithm $exp(x) -- Exponential $sqrt(x) -- Square root $min(x,y) -- Minimum $max(x,y) -- Maximum $abs(x) -- Absolute value $floor(x) -- Floor $ceil(x) -- Ceiling $pow(x,y) -- Power (x**y) $sin(x) -- Sine $cos(x) -- Cosine $tan(x) -- Tangent $asin(x) -- Arc-sine $acos(x) -- Arc-cosine $atan(x) -- Arc-tangent $atan2(y,x) -- Arc-tangent of y/x $hypot(x,y) -- Hypotenuse (sqrt(x**2 + y**2)) $sinh(x) -- Hyperbolic sine $cosh(x) -- Hyperbolic cosine $tanh(x) -- Hyperbolic tangent $asinh(x) -- Arc-hyperbolic sine $acosh(x) -- Arc-hyperbolic cosine $atanh(x) -- Arc-hyperbolic tangent `M_PI -- Pi `M_TWO_PI -- 2*Pi `M_PI_2 -- Pi/2 `M_PI_4 -- Pi/4 `M_1_PI -- 1/Pi `M_2_PI -- 2/Pi `M_2_SQRTPI -- 2/sqrt(Pi) `M_E -- e `M_LOG2E -- log base 2 of e `M_LOG10E -- log base 10 of e `M_LN2 -- log base e of 2 `M_LN10 -- log base e of 10 `M_SQRT2 -- sqrt(2) `M_SQRT1_2 -- 1/sqrt(2) For now, please report any problems directly to the author. Enjoy! ____________________________________________________________________________________ You rock. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It's that time of year again, for the Google Summer of Code. We've officially been accepted as a GSoC project under the gEDA umbrella. If you are a student looking for a summer project that contributes to universal well being as well as your academics, Go here: <http://code.google.com/soc/2008/> You won't find an Icarus Verilog project in the list of all the mentoring organizations, look instead for "The gEDA Project". We are as usual allying ourselves with the larger gEDA project because of the overlap that often occurs. The gEDA pages link back to us, and the gEDA ideas page has a link to the Icarus Verilog Projects page. And by the way, if you have project suggestions, that's a good place to put them. - -- Steve Williams "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. steve at icarus.com But I have promises to keep, http://www.icarus.com and lines to code before I sleep, http://www.picturel.com And lines to code before I sleep." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFH3ymTrPt1Sc2b3ikRAtt/AKCY0NWWzVXE4YjJWQoRBYINdc5hMQCdH5d3 QcPaLHMGMfhroIFtKNOJSn0= =nukb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

The first public release candidate of the Verilog-A math library for Icarus Verilog is now available. It can be found in the Icarus SourceFogre download area located here (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149850). When appropriately configured this release should work with either version 0.8 or 0.9 of Icarus. Though it is known to crash my local MinGW iverilog-vpi program. Hopefully this can be fixed before the final release. We plan to eventually integrate this library into the 0.9 release. This standalone version will be kept to support older releases. Two new lists have been created that may be of interest to Icarus Verilog users. The first is a read only list "iverilog-announce". It will be a low volume list where Icarus Verilog specific announcements will be made. This will predominantly be the announcement of stable releases and development snapshots. A periodic summary of recent changes between releases/snapshots is also being considered. The second list is for those developing Icarus Verilog "iverilog-devel". This is NOT a general user/support forum. The expected content is: discussions related to bug reports/feature requests, questions related to fixing bugs, implementation trade offs and other development related questions. Users may wish to follow this list if they would like to see what is being worked on and/or to comment on pending changes/fixes to the simulator. Information on how to join these lists can be found on the Icarus Verilog SourceForge mailing list page: http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=149850 ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
