No I didn't mean to say that ! What made you think I did ?
On the contrary I wrote we don't support Safari and won't spend time fixing this bug. I'm closing this ticket, sorry.

Now most people in the world have a mac and use Safari for that very reason. This hint should be for you to at least narrow down the error. It's very strange that you don't care.
We do care...
But as I said :
We never list Safari as a supported browser
Combodo is a small company with a limited set of resources
We try as most as we can to stick to web standards so that iTop can be usable on as much platform as possible. But sometimes we get strange behaviors like here...
Unfortunately we cannot afford to test each version on every browser... Fixing one qualified bug is a one time investment, but adding a browser to the supported browsers list means changing all the qualification and testing chain !
You can code a fix and submit it as a pull request - for example last year we reviewed and merged 34 PR submitted by our community.
Or if you have a budget you can also contact Combodo sales team to sponsor a fix, or even sponsor adding Safari as a supported browser.
Regards

Hey,
OK. I do not understand that and your reaction. everything else makes no sense. Now most people in the world have a mac and use Safari for that very reason. This hint should be for you to at least narrow down the error. It's very strange that you don't care.
in the past there have never been any problems with safari
It seems the menu problem does not only occur in Safari browser. I use an iPad Pro 3rd Gen with iPad OS 16.3. I installed the Firefox browser Version 111.0.

#2104Lars proposed a PR, it will be reviewed next month : https://github.com/Combodo/iTop/pull/340
Last edit: Pierre Goiffon 2022-09-28
PR was accepted and merged in 2dccedf
Will be available in next 3.1.0
As a reference, corresponding Combodo ticket reference : N°5703
It seems the menu problem does not only occur in Safari browser. I use an iPad Pro 3rd Gen with iPad OS 16.3. I installed the Firefox browser Version 111.0.
We use iTop Version 3.0.2.
Due to Apple policy, Firefox on iOS uses the same engine as Safari : WebKit, this explains why you're seeing the same bug.
Reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefox
Anyway you may try to implement the fix in your iTop instance directly ? Check the PR merge commit.
Thank you for this information!
The fix seems to work, thanks a lot :)
Hi,
How use you this FIX?
I try add FIX to css/backoffice/_shame.scss, but it donesn't work.
Thanks
Hello,
The SCSS file needs to be compiled to CSS.
To do that, delete all main.css files in env-production/branding/themes/ subdirectories : on next page load the theme CSS file will be generated again.
Thanks, now it works.
Thanks for the feedback !
