I have a fresh install of OCS Inventory and a fresh install of ITOP. I currently have OCS monitoring one Windows server with the OCS agent and ITOP has nothing in inventory. When I run the data collection tool, I notice it makes a few synchro data source objects in itop, however it tries to create a PC object and fails as shown in the attached file. I have tried to manually create a PC data synchro object and it starts complaining about data attributes. Would you recommend on
Create the PC synchro manually. If so, how do you add attributes?
I imagine the pc synchro should auto create because a few others auto create. I think my issue comes in at the Target class of ITOP data sources. Would I need to create a new one somehow?
Data Collection tool Version: Data collector for OCS Inventory NG 1.0.7
I was hopping that most of the "kitchen" stuff will be somehow automatically handled by the synchronize and iTop, but the manual labor is not worth the time spent to maintain that level of automation. So far, that automation in the inventory part is "on hold" in our environment
In your case - if you are not planning to collect data for PCs, then simply turn off the collection for PCs and leave only for the servers in the OCS extension.
I know that it's not solving the problem and it's more like workaround, but perhaps it will solve your problem for the time being.
