I'm testing approval process using "Approval process light" extension, I found it's great to allow approver to approve ticket easily. But I found some problems as below.
The approver value on the ticket could still be changed when edit the ticket, after change the ticket approver actually it cannot be changed. From the approval status tab, it still keep original assigned approver. Which means the approver actually cannot be changed. It's little confused.
When approver clicked the approval link from the email, it still required iTop login . But it said no need itop account from extension documentation. How could I allow approver not to login to proceed?

As soon as there is an approval defined and saved, the Ticket enter the approval process and approvers can no more be changed.
As long as the approver do have an iTop login, then they must login to approve. If the Approver has no login, then a click on the approval email is sufficient to approve

For #1, After I submitted a request and assigned an approver, I can still edit the ticket and change the approver. But the approver as you said shouldn't be change after ticket is sent and approver is saved. please see screen capture
For #2, The assign approver field requires an account from the system. Do you mean if the approver is not in "administrator" > "user accounts" can approve without login?
1), you're right, In this state it would be better to prevent modification of the approver, it's quite easy to do in the Designer for Combodo customers, but for the community it requires an extension.
2) Yes, if the Person selected as approver, is not linked to any iTop User, then the email he will receive contains a direct approval link which does not requires authentication
