How much work will it be to adapt iTop for Instrument CMDB and SM ?? Test and analytical instrument systems can have rather complex configurations with a lot of electronic components, software, drivers, firmware, etc. All these parts require proper configuratio, they breakdown and require service and maintenance, and require tasks to fulfill service ticket requirements.
Has anyone adapted itop to this complex system configurations or similar applications?
How hard would it be to completely changeover the object model and user interfaces to serve this purpose for lab testing instrument systems and equipment?
All opinions of people who have done extensive iTop customization of UI, Object Model, and workflow processes are welcome.
