Hi, I've just started to use Itop and rith now I m populating it with hardware devices but I don't know how to properly add the KVM switch.
Is there a way to create a new kind of device or what I have to do?
    Thanks

Wouldn't a KVM Switch just be considered a peripheral device? Just the same as adding a keyboard or mouse.. you wouldn't have a keyboard section, mouse section, and KVM switch section. You would have the peripheral section to group peripheral devices like keyboards, mice, KVM switches, monitor, internal/external CD drive, etc.

Thanks for the answer, but i was wondering..if i add the KVM as peripheral then how can I add it in the port connection of the switch (newtork device)? there is no way to connect a peripheral.

    Hi,

as Marco we've got a KVM and is a KVM over IP device so it has a network port an IP address etc. and is use to connect to the machines over IP, so I believe it is not a peripheral.
How can we add it in iTop?

    Thanks
    Luca

    Hi

You can create it as a Network Device, and create once a new network typer 'KVM'

    Regards
    Miguel
