iTunes Agent has passed a great milestone today - 1 million downloads registered here on Sourceforge.net!

We would like to thank the community for the support and interest in the project. Big thanks also goes out to the ones contributing suggestions and patches and the ones providing help in the support forums.

We are happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.3.4. This release is a minor update, bringing a few small enhancements which should improve the end-user experience.

* Fixed architecture issue causing iTunes COM interface problems on some systems.
* Fixed issue with invalid null-characters appearing in track information. (Issue 3108180)

We are happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.3.3. This release is a minor update, bringing a few small enhancements which should improve the end-user experience.

* Fixed issue which caused iTunes Agent to crash when synchronizing more than one device.
* Fixed issues with illegal characters at the end of artist and album names, causing tracks to always be re-synchronized.

We are happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.3.1. This release is a minor update, bringing a few small enhancements which should improve the end-user experience.

* An option for making iTunes Agent check whether a configured device seems to be representing a local system drive has been added. When enabled (enabled by default, but this can be disabled through the Preferences dialog), a warning will be displayed upon synchronization if the drive seems to be a local system hard drive.

I am happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.2.2.

This version is a minor bug fix release which corrects an issue where iTunes Agent would abort synchronization when the playlist for a device contained missing tracks. iTunes Agent will now
report the missing track, so the user may remove this before sychronizing.

I am happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.2.
This version is a bug fix release and the most important
updates are:

* New synchronization window!
This version contains a new synchronization window
which displays more detailed information about the
synchronization. It is now also possible to cancel
a synchronization.

* Better error handling
Many users reported problems with iTA crashing
when iTunes was busy with an open dialog etc. This
should now be fixed and iTA will display a dialog
in these cases asking if you want to retry the

iTunes Agent 1.1 released!

I am happy to announce the release of iTunes Agent 1.1. This new version contains a few major changes to the way iTunes Agent synchronize devices with the playlist in iTunes.

A new one-way synchronization method has been implemented. This way of synchronizing differs quite a bit from the method that was used in previous versions. Tracks in the playlist in iTunes now have priority over tracks on the device. This means tracks which are on the device, but not in the playlist will be removed from the device upon synchronization. The playlist for the device is also left in iTunes at all times so that the list may be modified at any time and changes may be synchronized to the device when it is connected. This solves problems which earlier occured when tracks were renamed in iTunes. It also avoids the duplicate tracks that occured in previous versions. I hope this new synchronization method will make iTunes Agent appealing to even more users out there.... read more

We are happy to announce the 1.0.2 release of iTunes Agent. This is a bug fix release containing fixes for the issues reported on version 1.0.1. The release also contains support for devices that has not been usable with iTunes Agent because they are managed by Windows as "local drives" instead of removable discs.

Another feature which has been requested by several users is the to group tracks which has the "compilation" flag set. Support for this is now implemented and devices with "iTunes" or "Artist Folder" synchronization pattern will now group these tracks together based on their Album information.... read more

I am happy to announce the 1.0.1 maintenance release of iTunes Agent. This release fixes some bugs that has been reported by users since the 1.0 version was released, including the floppy drive problem.

Version 1.0 of iTunes Agent has been released!

After a long autumn and winter of testing, iTunes Agent has finally reached 1.0. The development team decided that any new features will be implemented in version 2.0 or earlier, but that the application was ready for a 1.0 release in it's current condition.

I am happy to announce the 0.3 BETA release of iTunes Agent! It has been some time since the last release, but I finally I got the things, which I wanted fixed for this release, done.

There is nothing new in this release, just some bug fixes and some improvements. The cleanup when you disconnect a device should now be much better than what was the case with 0.2. Disconnecting devices is now also done in a matter of milliseconds instead of several seconds.... read more

The iTunes Agent team is pleased to announce iTunes Agent 0.2.1 BETA!

This release is a small bug fix which corrects a problem caused by illegal path name characters in iTunes track info fields. This bug (1373005) caused synchronization of files with such characters to fail.

A few requests have been received regarding the .Net Framework and startup errors in iTunes Agent. You need .Net Framework 2.0 FINAL for version 0.2, and newer, of iTunes Agent. .Net Framework 2.0 BETA 2 which was used for version 0.1 will NOT work with iTunes Agent 0.2 BETA and newer releases.

The iTunes Agent development team is proud to announce the second release of iTunes Agent.

Version 0.2 BETA brings a wide range of new support for devices and file structures. Several bug fixes has been implemented and the application has been tweaked in several places.

One of the main features that has been implemented is full support for the W800 artist/album folder structure. A progress bar has also been added, which shows up above your system tray to show the status of the current operation.

The next version of iTunes Agent; 0.2 BETA, is underway. There has been several issues, both on the device compatibility and the synchronization which have been fixed / are being fixed.

The development team, consisting of one developer, will have a two week holiday from today. Therefore a new version of iTunes Agent should not be expected before mid December, but then I hope to have a new version ready which supports a wider range of devices and with most of the annoying bugs found so far fixed.
