instead, create a channel like this:

Channel gmail-fake
Master :gmail-remote:
Slave :gmail-local:
Patterns *
Create None
Expunge None

and then re-run the command for it. that should give us the actual 
contents of the stores as mbsync sees them.

but then, i dimly remember that there was such an issue in the past.  
maybe you just need to upgrade to v1.4.
