The iSpider (python) application, which is allready famous for its ease of use will go on with the official name: iPodder. The slogan will be iPodder, based on the iSpider engine. The team who setted up the iPodder project offered us this great oppertunity. Next to 'codename iSpider' the .java based iPodder version will also be available. Though, these versions are totally different because of their different languages and usage.... read more

Things went very quickly after the Torrent support was there, an overview of what's inside version 0.5:

- Torrent support, if there's a Torrent file, iSpider dowloads the .torrent file and start downloading the content.
- Linux and freebsd support
- Enhanced installer for Macintosh
- Screenscraper is removed out of the engine. (to support rss 2.0)
- Improved windows detection
- Fixed windows/linux installation procedure
- Automatic creation of folders for each show/feed (thanx to Andrew Grumet)... read more

We're really glad to tell we have linux support soon. Thanx to Aaron Mitti who submitted his pieces of code. Right now we're going to check/test it a bit and probably later on this day we're going to make it available as part of the newest release of iSpider. Actually we are really enthousiastic about this first uploaded piece of code : ) Kudos for you Aaron.

today we finally rounded up the Windows Media Player support for the windows version of iSpider. After running the installer file, files will be transferred automatically to WMP's playlist, like it does for the mac version with iTunes.

It comes allready with an installer for Windows and Macintosh. Linux support is on the schedule but isn't implemented yet.
We also improved the iSpider homepage with the 'latest news' and 'release notes' to keep you informed about the progress. Soon we'll also have a possebility to download a new favorites file with the latest sources.... read more
