Unable to install in RDi 9.5. Install of iSphere 2.6.2 fails with the following error:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=IBM Software Delivery Platform com.ibm.sdp.eclipse.ide, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,com.ibm.rational.clearcase.ccrefresh,7.6.2.v201301111453
Samuel,
How did you install RDi 9.5? Did you do it over the Internet (Web Install) or did you download the zip files? The only idea I have so far is, that Eclipse cannot find a remote repository.
Thomas.
Today I also had some problems installing iSphere on RDi 9.5. The error was similar to yours, but the actual problems were connection problems to SourceForge.
I do not know whether it really was SourceForge or if there is a problem with Eclipse 4.4.
Did you try to install iSphere several times?
Was it alwas the same error?
Did you use the iSphere update site or the zip file?
The original install of RDi was via the web repository. I attempted both the zip file and the update site for iSphere, both with the same results. I tried this with a new workspace as well as a converted one also with the same results. I first attempted with an upgraded 9.1.1.1 workspace and then later tried with the fresh one.
I installed 2.6.2 by downloading the zip file and installing from the local drive. This is into a brand new RDi 9.5 installation at home: brand new workspace, not a copy of my 9.1 workspace. No errors, and it works fine. At work, I installed the latest 2.7 beta which also installed fine. Is there something I can collect to help the diagnosis?
Hi Buck, thank you for jumping in. I just checked the plug-ins of my RDi 9.5 and I noticed that I do not have a plug-in with ID "com.ibm.rational.clearcase.ccrefresh" (see: RDi 9.5 plug-ins.png). I assume that you also do not have that plug-in, which would explain why it works for you and me.
Samuel, could you please clear the error log, try to install iSphere and then export and post the error log here? As I mentioned two days ago, I had an intermittend problem with the same error. For that problem the error log clearly indicated, that Eclipse could not connect to SourceForge. (see: RDi 9.5 error log.png).

Thomas, I do have that plug-in here at work. I don't know what

Samuel, what other plug-ins did you install before iSphere?
Samuel,
here is another idea from the WDSC-L mailing list:
"Make sure you start RDi as the administrator on your PC before you install iSphere. Sometimes you can get away with not doing it, but I've seen occasional errors when RDi is not running as Admin.
Note: Its not enough that your ID is the admin on your PC. You have to start the actual app as admin. Right-click on the icon to start RDi, and click 'Run as administrator'."
Thanks Thomas, that tip from WDSC-L was the trick. In version 9.1.1 the RDi environment was installed in C:\IBM. When I installed 9.5 I used the default Program Files location by accident. I forgot that when it is installed into the virtual Program Files location that it requires admin rights to install/update anything. I will likely uninstall/reinstall back into a root C folder, but for now I was able to get the plugin to work. Thanks!
Problem solved.
